Teeth in a Day is also knowns as All on Four, Same Day Teeth, Teeth in an Hour.

Missing teeth can affect the way you look, eat, talk, and smile. Fortunately, there are a variety of replacement options that can restore the function and appearance of your teeth. In addition to offering traditional dentures and bridges, Drs. Cynthia Chen and Chris Ching are experienced in both designing and restoring implant-supported dentures to replace entire arches of missing or severely damaged teeth. One technique they use to accomplish this is the concept known as All-on-Four.

WHAT IS ALL-ON-FOUR?

All-on-Four is a system that involves using approximately four dental implants (sometime more, if possible) to secure a denture. Instead of replacing each missing tooth with a dental implant, the entire arch is replaced using an implant-supported denture. This denture is held in place by the four implants—two near the front of the mouth and two towards the back, which are placed at a slight angle to make the most of the available jawbone. Depending on the patient, more than four implants may be recommended to increase the likelihood of a successful outcome.

WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF ALL-ON-FOUR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

All-on-Four can be highly beneficial for the right candidates. Drs. Cynthia Chen and Chris Ching take the time to thoroughly assess patients to determine if the implant denture technique is ideal for them, or if an alternative option is more appropriate for their needs. In general, All-on-Four can offer the following benefits:

  • Creates a secure foundation for the custom-made denture
  • Optimizes jawbone contact, eliminating the need for bone grafting in some patients
  • Allows the teeth to be replaced in a single day for many people
  • Provides long-lasting and natural-looking results

During the consultation process, Drs. Cynthia Chen and Chris Ching will perform a comprehensive oral evaluation and go over each patient’s medical history. While All-on-Four can be a great option for many people, the doctors will only recommend this technique for those considered good candidates. They advise those considering the solution to seek an experienced oral professional that prioritizes their safety and wellbeing. Patients with inadequate jawbone density, as well as those suffering from conditions that complicate their ability to heal, are at a higher risk of implant failure and may be more suitable for an alternative solution.

WHAT DOES THE ALL-ON-FOUR PROCEDURE ENTAIL?

On the day of the All-on-4 procedure, the implants will be carefully placed according to the surgical plan, after which the restoration can be placed. Depending on the patient’s unique needs, Drs. Cynthia Chen and Chris Ching may perform one of the following:

  • Upper Arch Replacement treats the upper row of teeth using at least four dental implants to anchor the denture to the jaw.
  • Lower Arch Replacement addresses the lower row of teeth, replacing the entire arch with the implant-supported denture.
  • Full Mouth Restoration is ideal for those who need both their upper and lower arches of teeth replaced, using at least eight implants total.

After the All-on-Four procedure, patients will receive a temporary restoration, which will be worn as the implants gradually fuse to the jawbone. After approximately six plus months, the permanent denture can be secured onto the implants. This denture is custom-made to ensure a comfortable fit and beautiful results.
